About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf. Very Good in Very Good- dust jacket. 1960. Third Printing. Hardcover. 246 p. 20 cm. Originally published in 1956. Sound and square binding in salmon coloured cloth-covered boards with stamped titles and decoration on upper board and spine. A bit of fading along edge of spine ends. Corners lightly bumped. Top edge stained blue with a moisture mark and fading. The title page has a semi-circular tear along the bottom edge and gutter that seems to be glue-repaired, not too badly. Also tiny tear to edge of dedication page glue repaired. One illustration has been neatly colored. Otherwise, the inside pages are clean, bright, and unmarked. Dustjacket has some staining on the spine and back panel nearby. Spine is faded. Several short closed tears (some glue repaired) , and corners and spine ends have wear and chipping. Back panel lightly soiled. It is price-clipped. Overall, still quite an attractive copy. The twenty-second of the Freddy the Pig series. In this one, Freddy is suspicious when "Martians" managed by Herb Garble join a local circus. When some real Martians arrive, the fun begins. .
