London: Hodder & Stoughton, 1990. First Edition. Hard Cover. Dust Jacket. Signed by Author. First UK Edition. SIGNED COPY. ISBN: 0-340-51818-9. Publisher's red boards with gilt lettering to the spine. yellow end-papers. A fine copy in a VG+ very slightly spine-faded dustwrapper. A most unusual copy with the following additional features: an invitation from the Office of Tibet to "Tony M Chance" and "Sarah Ford" to a reception held at the Commonwealth Institute on 11th April 1988. Attached to the rear paste-down together a Prayer for the Long Life of H.H. the Dalai Lama. To the rear free end-paper is the Dalai Lama's Acceptance Speech of the Nobel Prize to Peace, December 1989. The front paste-down has the front cover photographic illustration from the dustwrapper of another copy of this book. The front free end-paper has a page from the Dalai Lama's itinerary during his visit to Britain in April 1988 clearly SIGNED BY THE DALAI LAMA TO THE FRONT COVER. The verso of the front free end-paper has a newspaper clipping from The Times (On This Day April 20 1959"). The half-title page front and verso has an article by Bernard Levin the The Times Friday September 17 1993. Scarce with these attributes. Photographs/scans available upon request.
