About This Item

Fremont: Hammond Printing Co, 1926. About very good.. [48]pp. Original printed wrappers, stapled. Small patches of dampstaining and light wear to wrap. Central pair of conjugate leaves detached. Internally clean. A very scarce 1920s promotional for the central Nebraska town of Fremont, northwest of Omaha on the Platte River. The pamphlet is profusely illustrated with reproductions of photographs that depict numerous town buildings and street scenes. The images are organized into sections such as "Homes," "Parks and Monuments," "Business Blocks and Buildings," and "Industry," while also showing farms, public buildings, and religious edifices in the area. The last several pages include "Some facts of Fremont," which note that the town "has 14 churches, 13 white - 1 Negro" and "almost every known secret order, and others." OCLC locates two copies, at Yale and the Denver Public Library.
