Brown Slipcase. Pages & plates remain bright with minimal tanning. Heavier to endpapers & paste downs. Text is clear. Binding remains firm. Boards have mild edge-wear with bumping to corners. Visible sunning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Black lettering is bright and clear to front board & spine. Slipcase has moderate edge wear with markings to panels and scuffing to edges.

N.Y. Brentano's [1913], 1913-01-01. Paperback. Acceptable. New York, 1913; blue cloth covered boards with navy cover titles; heavy wear and staining to boards; spine is discolored; corners bumped; 4to - over 9 3/4" to 12" tall; no jacket; ripples and light staining to some pages, likely due to water damage; pencil marking on half title page.

There is a thirty-four page 'Introduction' by Archibald Younger. The dustwrapper is grey and lettered on the spine and front cover with a pictorial paper onlay on the front panel. Light rubbing to head and tail of spine; some light spotting throughout text; light sunning to spine; d/w has small losses to head and tail of spine and corners of the d/w; d/w has chipped tears to front and rear fold flaps; d/w has small loss to top-edge of front panel; else a very good copy, in a good only d/w, of the 1914 first edition.
