A fine example of American book art of the 1890s, illustrated by W. D. Hadaway. In exceptionally good condition with the original dust jacket and silk ties.
Description: Bound in full calf, pictorial decoration blocked in blind to front board, title embossed in blind to spine. Original dust jacket, printed in black, repeating the design of the binding. Two original silk ties. Octavo 20 × 12 cm; unpag. [14]ll. (folded leaves, printed in red and black, recto only). Decorated with 4 full-page, elaborate pictorial borders in black, combined with 2 woodcuts printed in red or text blocks in black and red.

Condition: Dust jacket somewhat chipped and frayed. Very minor abrasions and marks of usage to binding. Light offsetting to flyleafs from dust jacket. Pages slightly toned with age, but clean and well preserved. A complete, near fine copy. Very rare in this condition.
