London: J. S. Virtue & Co., 1894. Book. Illus. by Rivers, Miss May. Fair. Hardcover. First Edition. 4to. Division IV includes 7 colour plates plus a coloured title page for vol. II. Original green cloth binding, front boards decorated in black, gilt lettering to spine, text block is separated from the binding; binding with general wear and rubbing, frayed at corners and spine. The contents are mainly clean, original patterned endpapers with front free endpaper missing, all edges gilt, plates and tissue guards are free from foxing but have some handling wear and marking. A fair to good clean disbound copy of Div.IV. ["The Fruit Grower's Guide" was published in instalments between 1891 and 1894 and includes 43 fine chromolithographic tissue guarded plates of fruits by May Rivers, and 3 colour vignettes to title pages Complete in 6 divisions,/volumes, each division consists of 176 pages, with adverts to rear, the text in each volume is preceded by 7 or 8 plates; there are further engravings in the text. ].
