San Francisco: Funny Foto Studio, 1940. Hardcover. Very Good. Original photo in custom mat from the Funny Foto Studio in Playland at the Beach, circa 1940 (educated guess). Mat size 3 1/2" x 5 1/2". Photo showing in frame is 2 1/8" x 3". This humorous photo has a man and a woman-- their heads only -- appearing behind a made-up sheet depicting a man in a swimsuit (?) undressing (?) a woman in a full body girdle (?) and hosiery with garters. He has a smile on his face and she a look its up to the viewer to decide what she is conveying. Playland at the Beach apparently was an amusement park between about 1926 and 1972, under two different names. While info can be found about the Playland, it is very difficult to locate info on the studio. This is a very scarce, if not rare personal period souvenir. There is a less-than-diime-size albumin color blemish in the top, vacant area of the photo; else vg or better. Quite minor wear.
