"Boccherini Quintetti [part name] 2e L[ivrais]on" in contemporary manuscript to each upper wrapper. Former owner's small handstamp (device with monogram "EG") to lower right corner of final page of each part.
Wrappers somewhat worn and soiled. All parts except Violino 1o. slightly foxed; some soiling; occasional creasing to outer corners; Violino 1o. part slightly dampstained at lower outer corner; page 2 of Viola part heavily stained; upper wrapper of Violoncello 2o. part dampstained at upper inner quarter.
An uncut copy. First Edition, later issue. Second of eight volumes ("livraisons"). Not in BUC. RISM B3182 (1 complete set of parts in the U.S. only, at the Newberry Library). WorldCat (complete copies at the University of Illinois and Duke).
According to Gérard (p. 408), the otherwise identical title page of the first edition, first issue reads "Douze" instead of "Vingt-Quatre." Following the issue of four volumes (twelve quintets) in 1798, the title was changed; four additional volumes were issued between 1802 and 1812.
