About This Item

Sausalito, CA Windgate Press, 1985. Hardcover First Edition (1985), so stated. First Edition (1985), so stated. Very Good+ in Near Fine DJ: Both book and DJ show only minute indications of use. The Book shows a crease at the lower corner of the front free end paper, which also bears the former owner's "unicorn"-themed, personalized book plate; there is a thin line of sunning to tan cloth along the bottom edge ot the greyish-tan cloth over boards; the binding is a little cocked (quite common in books of this size, weight, and shape) but remains secure; the text is clean. Free of creased or dog-eared pages in the text. Free of any underlining, hi-lighting or marginalia or marks in the text. A carefully used copy, structurally sound and tightly bound, showing little wear at all, but some unobtrusive, but notable imperfections. The DJ shows some very superficial indentations at the front panel and very the very mildest rubbing to the panels; unclipped; mylar-protected. Very close to 'As New'. NOT a Remainder, Book-Club, or Ex-Library. Large Oblong 4to. (11.25 x 12.85 x 1.3 inches). xiv, 208 pages. illustrated with 170 black-and-white plates. Tan cloth over boards. Compiled by Thomas Moulin and Donald DeNevi. Project Designed by Linda Witwer Bonnett. Language: English. Weight: 57.3 ounces. Hardback with DJ. Moulin presents the finest of homes and gardens on the peninsula, photographed between 1910 - 1930, includes El Cerrito, 1919 California Street, Uplands, 2200 Broadway, Villa Montalvo, St. Fancis Hotel, The Pines and Filoli. The classic presentation of the mansions of the San Franscisco Peninsula. The houses are simply spectacular. The text is well researched and the book is easy to navigate. If you have any interest in beautiful mansions, or the San Francisco Bay Area, or just have an appreciation for lovely architecture books, then you will be more than pleased with this book.
