Latin text, folio, approximately 360 x 225 mm, 14 x 8¾ inches. Title pages printed red and black with beautiful large engraved printer's device of a ship and 2 angels, repeated on final page of Ludex Perfectus, some decorative head- and tailpieces and initials, half-title to each work, text printed in double column, each work with an index at rear. LUDEX PERFECTUS: pages: [20], 1-324, [56]. 1 small printer's ink stain to 1 lower margin corner, otherwise clean. Treatise on the subject of judges, Roman and Canon law. DE PRIVILEGIIS PAUPERUM: subtitle: cod. quando imperator inter pupillos, & viduas, aliasqe miserabiles personas cognoscat : tractatus in duas partes distributus, juris studiosos, & in foro versantibus omnino necessarius, bonarum literarum sectatoribus accommodatissimus. Divided into 2 parts, pages: [14], 1-324, [60]; [4], 1-218, [46]. Small chip to fore-edge of half-title, no loss to printing, contents very clean. First published in 1630-36 as Tractatus de privilegiis pauperum et miserabilium personarum authore. A treatise on poverty, beggars and old age. Binding: full pigskin over wooden boards, elaborately blind tooled, raised bands to spine, old faded chipped paper label, original metal clasps, one clasp lacking catch, covers slightly soiled, tiny hole to surface at tail of spine, 1 ink number on front pastedown.
