Original printed wrappers (damaged to hinges and to the margins; both covers soiled; dog-eared; title written in ink on spine. Half-title and last leaves dog-eared, soiled to the margins and outer margins partly damaged). - Uncut. - 110 pages, only the right-hand page bearing an odd number, with biographical notices, and 52 engraved portraits on different paper. Interesting portaits of 'Lucas de Leyde, H. Goltzius, Jean Lanfranc, Augustin Carache, Wenceslar Hollar, Frescobaldus, P. Breughel le Vieux, J. Holbein, Michel Ange, Rubens, Van Dyck, Poussin, Picart, Titien, Rembrandt, Watteau, Tardieu, G. & B. Audran, Rosalba Carriera', etc. etc. - Apart from half-title and last leaf interior state good, with only a few brown spots in places, mainly marginal spots. - With stamp on first fly-leaf of former owner "A. Van Loock".
