First Edition, decorated American trade binding, illustrated by Howard Pyle. Clean pale green cloth boards with cream and silver decoration, gold lettering on cover and spine. No bumping or fraying. Binding is tight and square, hinges are sound. Pages and edges are clean with gilt top page edges. Decorated endpapers (brief, neatly penned previous owner inscription at top of front free endpaper dated Christmas 1907). Full color tipped in frontispiece with tissue guard (three additional full color illustrations by Howard Pyle with printed tissue guards). 334 pages..
