Witherby, London., 1912. First edition. Royal octavo. pp xii, 159. 50 chromolithograthic plates by C.G. Davies. Period binding of half green morocco with raised bands, gilt rules, green cloth, all edges gilt. Marbled endpapers. On the front pastedown is the armorial bookplate of Colonel Richard Sparrow of the 7th Dragoon Guards who was a founder member of the South African Ornithologists' Union.Spine a little faded. Sporadic foxing, but the colour plates which are printed on superior paper are in excellent state. Very good indeed.
