About This Item

Seattle: Center on Contemporary Art, 1996. First Edition. Wraps. Fine. Small, square 8vo. Pp. 32. Forewords by Harmony Hammond and Catherine Lord. Illustrated with photo reproductions by the artists represented in the exhibit. Bound in stiff, printed wraps, saddle stapled. An exhibit catalog for the seminal show at COCA, summer, 1996. Curators Hammond and Lord entered a shallow history of exhibits of lesbian art. Cited are the 1978 "A Lesbian Show" (112 Greene Street Place, New York), "The Great American Lesbian Art Show" (Woman's Building, Los Angeles, 1980), and "All But the Obvious" (Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE), 1990). Both curators present solid, well researched essays.
