About This Item
[Hershey, Dauphin County, Pennsylvania, 1941]. [5], 6-18, [2]pp. 10¾ x 8½ inches. Pictorial self-wrappers. Half tone illustrations; advertisements. Light soiling to wrappers; Very Good.
Championship Rodeo program featuring radio and cowboy Western film star Gene Autry-"The Singing Cowboy." The touring rodeo exhibition featured all manner of horse and trick riding events plus a performance by the United States Indian Band, under the direction of Young Chief Oneida, and by Autry himself, "stellar luminary of all Western picture stars and radio singers," who showed his skill in working his movie horses "Champion" and "Champion, Jr."
The 1941 edition of Championship Rodeo will be second to none. Besides the wild cow milking contest and the pushball game, both added thrillers, we will have the champions of all the West competing in the bronc riding, calf roping, steer riding, and steer wrestling contests. (p6)
With a title page vignette by celebrated cowboy author and illustrator, Will James. Scarce.
