pp 174 The first edition of Alex Martin's first novel, a comedy of Anglo-Italian misunderstandings, inscribed by the author to British cartoonist John Ryan "For John and Priscilla - Most affectionately, Alex Martin Rye 14th April 1991". Near fine in tan cloth, in a near fine dust jacket, very lightly soiled and creased along the top edge. John Ryan (19212009) was a British animator and cartoonist, best remembered for his character Captain Pugwash which began as a comic strip which spawned books and a TV series animated by Ryan.
