New York: G. P. Putnam's Sons, 1954. First edition, first printing, 1954. Very good on fair to good dustjacket. A history of smoking along with tobacco growing, curing and otherwise preparing for smoking, pipes, cigars, etc. illustrated with black and white plates and line drawings. Patterned brown cloth with lighter brown cloth spine, with dustjacket. The book is in very good condition with modest edge rubbing, good hinges, firm text block, clean pages, no names or other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped [3.75] and has some clear tape repairs, scuffing to the top couple of inches of the front panel, foxing to the white background of the rear panel, little paper loss. . First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
