Old bookplate on front endpaper, old name and date on front endpaper. Slight soiling on covers, small mottled area at bottom of spine. Endpapers split in gutters. Some of the plates at the back are creased but have no tears. This second edition combines Geological Observations on the Volcanic Islands with Geological Observations on South America. It has a new preface by Charles Darwin. Rare early edition..
