Born in 1819, the English author wrote numerous highly-regarded novels such as "The Mill on the Floss," "Silas Marner" and "Middlemarch," among many others. Entries arranged, edited and indexed by J. W. Cross. With a tissue-guarded frontis portrait of Eliot. Possibly published c.1880s-1920s, though 1884 date appears in book. --- In maroon cloth with spine titling in gilt, TEG (top edge gilt). Volume lacks a dust jacket. --- With conspicuous discoloration to back cover and mild scuffing to cover edges, else a tightly-bound, unmarked, sound copy.; Small Octavo - 7-1/2 to 8 in. tall; x, 763 pages .
