New York: An Imago Imprint / Macmillan Publishing Co., 1983. Gilt-stamped, quarter red morocco; seperate folder with original drawing both laid into quarter morocco clamshell box. Limited, number 12 of 150 numbered copies of the collector's edition accompanied by an original ink and pencil drawing from Grosz's sketchbook. The leaf (5" x7") with this copy is a study of soldier, a common image appearing in Grosz's work. The drawing bears the blind stamp of the Grosz estate, lower right. George Grosz (1893 - 1959) was a German artist known especially for his caricatural drawings and paintings of Berlin life in the 1920s. He was a prominent member of the Berlin Dada and New Objectivity group during the Weimar Republic A exceptionally clean, bright and tight copy of a SCARCE item. Size: Octavo. First Edition.. Leather.
