About This Item
HarperSanFrancisco, March 2001. Paper Back. New. About George MacDonald, C.S. Lewis wrote 'I know hardly any other writer who seems to be closer, or more continually close, to the Spirit of Christ Himself.' In this book, Lewis offers 365 selections from MacDonald's work, ranging from 'Inexorable Love' to 'The Torment of Death,' from 'Immorality' to 'Peace in Our Time.' Besides being a remarkable mythologist and devotional writer in his own right, Lewis said that he had never written a book that didn't quote from George MacDonald (and you might recall he takes on the Virgilian role of guide through heaven in Lewis' The Great Divorce).
