About This Item

Cambridge: Friends' Press, Fitzwilliam Museum, 1989. Book. Fine. Soft cover. 1st Edition. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. 8 3/8" x 5 3/4", pages unnumbered - by my counting 34; all bar the two pages of explanation and introduction being reproductions of Mackley's holograph letters and drawings. Cover also serves as title-page and includes engraving of a star, which Mackley sent as a proof to Deborah ( the child of the title) with one of his letters. A printed folded insert indicates that this copy was used as a Christmas and New Year card by Leonard and Gladys Gray in 1989, also recording the fact of their 50th wedding anniversary. Stapled sheets, originally held - and just holding - by three very light glue points to a dark grey folded card cover / jacket with the printing on the cover in dark gray. An 'as new' copy. Uncommon. .
