Dark green cloth, gilt spine titling, lightest edgewear, B/W plate to FPEP of John Couper w ink note beneath (""John Couper of Cannons Point""), ink gift inscription (""To my daughter / Lucile Hardin Irwin / from her mother / Julia May Hardin"") to upper FFEP, INSCRIBED BY AUTHOR (""To Julia May Hardin / a descendant of John Couper of Cannon's Point / with best wishes / Burnette Vanstory / Oct 30, 1956"") to lower FFEP, some pencil underlining & marginalia, binding tight, leaves bright. Unclipped DJ ($3.75) edgewear w nicks/chips to extremities, sunning to spine, creases to rear, a few closed tears, smudges to rear, now in Brodart. B/W photo illustrations.
