About This Item

Annapolis, Maryland: Naval Institute Press, 1992. Hardcover, large quarto bound in black cloth, in publisher's pictorial black dust-jacket. 416 pages. Extensively illustrated with diagrams, silhouettes and photographs. First American edition, first printing distributed by the Naval Institute Press, being printed and bound in Great Britain by Tanner Limited. A monumental reference source, compiled from the confidential naval books regularly updated by British Intelligence. Unlike the censored reference works, such as Jane's, which were available to the public, these books were more fulsome in their detail, not only covering aspects of technological import omitted from the public offerings, but also containing comment and analysis of the effectiveness of the combat designs being presented. No previous ownership marks. A very clean, square, fresh and unmarked copy. Dust-jacket shows small nick at top of spine, else as new. A fine copy in a very good+ dust-jacket. A large, heavy book, Priority and International orders will require additional postage. . First Edition. Hardcover. Fine/Very Good+. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
