Milano: Gentrino Casa Editrice, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover. Edition limited to 1000 numbered copies (this being #117). Facsimile of the edition published by Luigi Sacchi in 1842-44. Two volumes in one. xciv, 278, 384pp. Spectacular full calf two-tone binding with diamond motifs, gilt and blind decorations on the sides, spine with five raised bands and elaborate gilt decorations, all edges gilt. Full calf two tone doublures, turn-ins tooled in gold, gilt inner dentelles, moiree free endpapers. The binding is signed by Codina of Milano. Printed on ultra thin Cina paper. With two maps and several in-text illustrations. Text in Italian. A couple of light scuffs to rear panel. A bright near fine copy. Lacks the simple paper slipcase. ; Quarto.
