About This Item

First Canadian edition hardcover with dust jacket, published by the Canadian publisher, Lester & Orpen Dennys, 1984. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. Greene's account of his first meeting and subsequent friendship with Omar Torrijos, at the time the General who had taken power in Panama in 1968. Published after the death of Torrijos in a plane crash in 1980. Green cloth covered boards, with the author name and title imprinted on the spine in gold. Boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or creased. Jacket is intact and is not price clipped. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages.Edges of the text do show some foxing spots. First flyleaf has an former price in pencil at the top right, erased and smudged. This is not a library copy, not a remainder. The attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory.

Synopsis

Graham Greene was born in 1904. He worked as a journalist and critic, and was later employed by the Foreign Office. He died in April 1991.
