About This Item
Verona, Italy: Officina Bodoni, 1965. Quarter Leather. Very Good+ binding. Octavo. 108, [4] pp., plates, facsims. Limited edition, one of 225 copies. As issued, backed in green morocco with paper over boards; in publisher's card slipcase. A fairly fresh copy with some light and scattered foxing and a bit of a musty smell; clean throughout. Compliments of R. G. Wasson card laid in.
An interesting essay that dissects Lincoln's dedication of the Gettysburg battlefield. An academic essay that asks and answers the question: "Is the Gettysburg Address the masterpiect they would have us believe? We think not; we think it falls far short of it" (p. 9). This essay is followed by a memoir of Wasson by his son. A finely printed piece by Giovanni Mardersteig at his Officina Bodoni. Mardersteig 139.
