About This Item

From the front dust jacket flap: "The pageant of Nature offers much useful instruction for anyone with the will to notice and understand. And the life of the silkmoth - the subject of this book - is an anthology of lessons." There are three lessons mentioned: patience, durability, and uselessness of judging by appearances. Quote from back DJ cover: "Written in a reader-friendly style and illustrated with beautiful and informative photographs, A Gift of Wings is easily accessible to nonscientists. It will appeal to both young and old." - Gilbert Waldbauer, PhD, Professor Emeritus of Entomology, University of Illinois My comment - even though this was written for adults, I think it would make a great book to read to children as a change from the usual story books. Book - Fine condition. Forest Green cloth over boards with gold gilt text on front and spine. Tiniest bit of wear at spine. Pages are clean and binding is tight. Photographs are beautiful. Dust Jacket - Near Fine condition. Front cover has a bit of wear at top corner and top of spine, there is also a spot near the bottom of spine that looks like a flaw in the coating. Very minimal rubbing/bumping. Please use photos as part of the description. 42 pages
