This catalogue was produced to accompany the exhibition of work by Giovannia Battista Moroni (c.1520/24 - 1579/80) held at the Kimbell Art Museum, Fort Worth from 26 February to 28 May, 2000. Moroni was one of the most prolific and important portrait painters of Renaissance Italy, with a wide range of sitters including the local aristocracy of Bergamo, Brescia, and his native Albino as well as clerics and men of letters. The exhibition at Kimbell Art Museum presented ten of the artist's finest paintings from throughout his career and was the first exhibition of his work in the USA..
