London: Girl's Own Paper Office. Very Good in Good dust jacket. [1936]. Hardcover. 624 p. 28 cm. No publication or copyright date, but dated from volume number. Sound and square binding in red, cloth-covered boards. A little wear to the spine ends and corner tips. Small soil spot on upper board. Text block edges are toned. Inside pages are clean and unmarked with some toning. A light corner crease to one leaf. Dustwrapper has heavy wear to top edge and tail of spine, with paper loss at both spine ends and upper corners. The spine has several creases and has a strip of tape on the reverse side. The panels, flap edges and folds are foxed. Not price-clipped. Scarce in dust jacket. Packed with stories, poetry, articles, interviews, crafts and activities for girls. Four full-colour plates. Issued since 1880 by the Religious Tract Society as an annual compilation of the Girl's Own Paper, this is one of the last of this series, which stopped publication in 1940 due to the war paper shortage. Will require extra postage due to weight. .
