Norwalk, Connecticut: The Easton Press, 2004. Leather bound. Fine. Large octavo size, 289 pp., signed by Vonnegut. Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. (1922-2007) wrote across a broad spectrum; from "widely satirical novels" to fantasy and science fiction, Vonnegut had a message to deliver: the "horrors and ironies of 20th-century civilization" (n.b., quotes from the online Encyclopedia Britannica). His career spanned more than five decades, during which he would write fourteen novels, three short-story collections, five plays, and five nonfiction works.
This work, "God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater", was Vonnegut's fifth novel, and both introduces characters which would be encountered in "Slaughterhouse Five" as well as bringing together "[s]everal...of Vonnegut's continuing themes" (n.b., quote from Wiki).
One of the Collector's Edition publications by The Easton Press, signed by Vonnegut on the page tipped onto the title page; loosely laid in is the Easton Press COA and the publisher's "Note".
___DESCRIPTION: Bound in full cordovan leather over boards, gilt decorations on both boards, gilt lettering and decorations on the spine, all edges gilt, tan silk moire endpapers, Vonnegut's signature in blue ink on the tipped-in page following the half-title page, title page in red and black, original silk ribbon marker; large octavo size (9 1/4" by 6 1/8"), pagination: [i-xii] 1-275.
___CONDITION: Fine overall; the leather binding smooth and supple, the gilt bright, straight corners without rubbing, a strong, square text block with solid hinges, the interior is clean and bright, and entirely free of prior owner markings; for some reason the printed text on page 1 is slightly out of register, else clean, crisp, and as new.

Synopsis
God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater, or Pearls Before Swine, is a novel written by Kurt Vonnegut, Jr. , published in 1965. The plot focuses on Eliot Rosewater, the primary trustee of the philanthropic Rosewater Foundation, whom one of the family lawyers, Norman Mushari, is attempting to have declared insane, in order for a distant relative, Fred Rosewater, an insurance salesman from Rhode Island, to gain control.
