About This Item
Scotia NY: The Dollover's Library, 1964. First Thus. Saddle Stitched. Very Good/No Jacket. 12 p.; not numbered. VG; pamphlet printed on stiff paper, reproducing a series of articles from Godey's Lady's Book of 1860 with complete instructions, with diagrams, for making a doll's outfit from chemise to cape, including a night-dress. Instructions for making a doll pen-wiper and for making doll furniture from card are also included. Cover illustrations from Godey's. An experienced seamstress would find this very useful to make authentic period clothing for antique or repro. dolls, or, as suggested, to enlarge for human-size clothing. The skill level required is quite advanced. One can only assume that little girls in 1860 were assumed to have extensive sewing skills. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
