London: Clarke, Beeton, & Co., 1853. 1st Edition. Quarter Leather. Very Good. xii, 372 p. 48 engravings from S. T. Gill's sketches (nowhere credited). Rebound in blue leather with marbled paper boards. Frontispiece and title page have roughened edges. Slight damp staining within. According to his own account, Sherer arrived in Melbourne in 1852, struck it rich mining for gold in Bendigo, then returned home to write this colourful account.
