Portland: John Talbot [Talbot & Addis], 1899 (Copyrighted By Joseph M Clark, April 18th, 1899) 12mo (4-1/2"x6-3/4"), 87 numbered pages + 3 pages at rear not numbered (2 pages on 'how to get an ore testing outfit', and a one page advertisement for the book), red flexible cloth covers with lettering (faded but readable) in gilt, at the center of the title page is a photographic illustration of a prospector panning for gold Original floral endpaers, table of contents, 16 pages of illustrations -- Cloth covers moderatley worn and stained, back cover has a vertical wrinkle to the cloth, front hinge cracked but holding, internally the binding is fragile but holding (except for one page which is loose) Front endpaper has an inked inscription -- Chapters on ore bodies, placer gold, How to pan, Tracing, To uncover hidden veins, post holes, test of ores, etc -- A fragile, scarce book that was meant to be used in the field -- Overall Good Condition (KB) Quantity Available: 1 Category: Business & Industry; Pictures of this item not already displayed here available upon request Inventory No: 006759.
