Macmillan And Co. Limited, 1925. Hardback. Good/Good. Abridged edition hardback in one volume, 1925, with unclipped jacket. In overall good-to-very good used condition with some minor signs of age, handling and storage - dust jacket rubbed and slightly tanned to spine and edges with several chips (now protected); boards rubbed to edges. Binding tight and appears little read. Internally clean, no annotation or inscriptions - private bookplates to front pastedown (Arnold Jones) and front endpaper (John Denys Parminter); toning to page-ends but text bright and clear throughout. Photographs available. Not an old library book.

Draws on myths, rituals, totems and taboos fo ancient European and primitive cultures throughout the world. the third edition of this monumental study of folklore, magic, and religion was abridged by the authour into this single volume in 1922.
