Ten full-page illustrations by Caldecott Medal winner Uri Shulevitz. The author, winner of the Nobel Prize for Literature, dedicated this book to "the persecuted and oppressed everywhere, old and young, Jew and gentile in the hope against hope that the time of false accusations and malicious decrees will cease one day."
