He found himself in Little Weirwold and takes some time to adapt to the quiet of the countryside and Tom Oakley the old man with whom he lodges. Winner of The Guardian Children's Fiction Award. Dark green boards, metallic title to spine. 304 pages. Spine and corners bumped. Evidence of pencil erasure to front free-endpaper. Top edge of textblock is slightly dusty. Otherwise contents fine. Price-cut wrapper is a little creased at edges and quite badly faded to spine.

Synopsis

Goodnight Mister Tom (also Good Night, Mr Tom) is a 1981 novel by Michelle Magorian. It follows a young boy named William Beech who is evacuated from London during the air-raids that formed part of the Blitz of World War II, and put into the care of an elderly reclusive man named Tom Oakley. Thanks to Tom, William Beech was able to start a new life of love and care. Two musicals based on the book have been written.
