About This Item

Toronto: University of Toronto Press, 1982. 319 pp, 9 1/4"H. B&w photographs, maps. "The authors follow (The Governor's Road) through Oakville, Dundas, and Ancaster and on to London, with stops in Waterdown, Brantford, St. George, Paris and Woodstock. The homes range from cottages to castles, their materials from frame and cobblestone to red brick and cut stone. The illustrations are by Hugh Robertson, one of Canada's best architectural photographers. They show public buildings as well - inns, mills, churches, courthouses and jails."
