About This Item
New York: M.W. Dodd, 1844. Hardcover. Very Good. 16mo. 176 pages. A small book measuring 6 1/8 inches tall by just over 4 inches wide. Hardcover bound in original dark brown publisher's cloth with cover designs embossed in blind and with spine designs in gilt. Light to moderate wear to the binding. The corners are a little bumped. A sound copy with secure inner hinges. Some spotting to the outside edges of the text block, but the text is generally quite clean. There a small ink-stamp ownership mark on the front flyleaf by a 20th century owner. An early inscription on the second front flyleaf reads, "Samuel Rowe / 1858" and then in another hand in pencil, "to C. A. Brown." A sound little book with nice gilt designs on the spine.
