About This Item

Berkeley: University of California, 1929. First Edition. Printed wraps. Near Fine. Small 4to. Pp. vi - 194. Includes a section on the "habitat and status of Wappo," the grammar and a English-Wappo and Wappo-English dictionary. A lovely copy, partially unopened. According to Radin, in 1929 "practically all Wappo are supposed to live at Alexander Valley, [in present-day] Sonoma County, California," although at one time all Wappo occupied two unconnected areas, "one lay in Napa and Sonoma counties and the other, much smaller, at the southern end of Lake county.
