Quarter leather binding, six compartment spine with gilt decor and label lettering, marbled boards and endpapers. While title page is dated 1880, book was actually published in 1873. In the aftermath of the devastating defeat in the Franco-Prussian War, this examination of the geo-politics of France's humiliation is set in 1880, after France, followed by nearly every other European power, sets out to crush and dismember the new German Empire in a successful war of revenge. ; 147 pages .
