Description:
NY: Harcourt, Brace & Company. Good with no dust jacket; Boards worn, water spot on front boards, spine cracked, some light fingersoiling.. 1935. First Edition. Hardcover. Red cloth binding. - Used

- Paperback
Circa 1840s. Tan printed wraps. Measures 10.5 x 7 inches. Printed publisher's list on rear cover. Eight leaves, printed on one side, hand colored wood engravings. One of Grandmama Easy's Large Toy Books. American edition of children's book previously published in London. Rhyming story of a toy shop owner showing off various kinds of toys, including building bricks, swords, rocking-horse, toy soldiers, windmill, kitchen, etc. Spine has been repaired with stitching, pages foxed, stained, torn, some manuscript page numbers. Pages match the London edition of this title digitized at the University of Florida's Baldwin Library of Historical Children's Literature, but they are in a different sequence and this copy exhibits more elaborate hand coloring. A great reference for antique toy collectors.
