Moderated wear to covers, bookplates to front fixed endpaper, lower corner margin of frontispiece and tissue guard dampstained (not affecting image and no other pages, plates or covers are similarly stained), near very good overall. xii, 1 fl, 332 pp., frontispiece and 10 engraved plates; octavo, original dark green cloth with gilt title and ornaments. Corrigenda and addenda slip tipped to p. 1.

Archbishop King was known as a reformer and a progressive in the affairs of the church. He was also influential in the political affairs of Ireland and a supporter of the revolution of 1688 that saw the deposition of James II and VII and the ascension of Mary II and William of Orange.
