Boston / New York: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1904. Volume two only of Dodge's immense study of Napoleon's campaigns & tactics. Hardcover, full burgundy cloth, gilt titling. Light wear to book, ink name & note on free endsheet; fragile jacket edgeworn, lightly stained, missing large portions of the spine, mended internally with archival tape; minor pencil & colored pencil annotation; rear maps poorly refolded and protruding. Pagination ix, blank, 546 pages; maps, figures, engraved frontispiece portrait, seven folding maps - one with some red & blue pencil. Formerly the property of Carl A. Buechner, Jr., Class of 1939, U.S.M.A. [West Point]. Buechner went on to become a supply officer in World War Two, rising to the rank of Major, serving mostly with the 506th PIR.. Later Printing. Hard Cover. Very Good/Poor. 5¾" by 8¼".
