First edition, first printing. Jacket design by P. Youngman Carter (based on Lady Butler's painting 'The Eviction'). 19 illustrations plus a fold-out map of Ireland which is in very beautiful condition. Publishers green cloth boards with gilt titles to spine. Binding tight, boards clean and corners square. Content is clean with no markings- some beginnings of age spotting to page edges. Dust cover is clipped and has rubbing to spine ends and corners, light edge wear with creasing and small tears, small fragment missing to front fold. Not ex-library. 510 pp.
