Great Ocean Yacht Race" -Original Currier and Ives color Litho: Caption below the image states: "The Yacht "Fleetwing" of N.Y. 212 Tons. Competitor in the Great Ocean Yacht Race, from new York to Cowes, Dec. 1866. Making the run in 14 days 6 hours mean-time." Published by the Currier and Ives publishing house, which existed from 1835 to 1907. Depicts a handsome yacht named "Fleetwing" on its transatlantic voyage from New York to Cowes, on the Isle of Man in Britain. 17" x 13" inches framed, print itself is approx. 14" x 10" inches. Comes in the original dark wooden frame, this lithograph was a graduation gift to a young man in 1941, with the original dedication on a label on the back of the frame. Overall very good condition.
