In the 1820's a barbarous very complicated war was fought for Greek independence. Who were the people who fought it, what they thought they were fighting for, and what did Lord Byron achieve , if anything for his visit and death. 253 pages with 24 black and white illustrations and endpaper maps. Book in very good- condition ex library with sticker on first and last two pages, some pencil underlining on two pages, minor marks on some pages, some tanning, reader wear and borrower sleave remnants inside back cover. Dust jacket in very good condition in clear wrapper with sticker on spine, some chips and dents to edges.
