Imitation leather, mounted cover illustration, gilt and blindstamped decoration, 4to,. xxxix, 526 pp, colour ills. 825 entries. From a review by Dennis Rhodes: "Mr Dimitris Contominas..has not chosen to collect the earliest examples of printing in Greek, but books of all ages up to the present, and often books in English or French, which illustrate in some way or other the traveller's delight in Greek landscape, history and literature. This beautiful book, compiled with loving care by Leonora Navari (who previouslv worked in the Blackmer l.ibrary and is also known for her studies on the Gennadius Library). describes in detail, often accompanied by stunning illustrations in colour, the 825 volumes of Mr Contominas's choice." Navari notes in her introduction that notwithstanding her prevcious cataloguing of the Blackmer and Atabey libraries, some half of the books in the Contominas collection were new to her. As New.
