Hardcover first edition, published by William Sloane, 1947. Grayish green cloth covered boards, 358 pages, 5-1/2" X 8-1/4". No dust jacket. Classic dystopian fiction, in which a strain of Bermuda grass is growing out of control, choking out every other plant and destroying the food supply. Age tanning to the edges of the text block and on the front and back free endpapers. Some slight bump marks to the edges of the cover boards. This copy is not a remainder, not a library discard. No writing on the text pages, no former ownership marks, The binding is tight and all pages are intact and tightly bound. Nice condition of this classic Science Fiction dystopia. As is the case for all of our listings, the attached photo is of the copy we have in our inventory, not a stock photo.
