NY: Childs & Swaine, 1794. First edn. 8vo, [pp. 184] Some foxed, removed from a bound volume, a very good copy. Evans 26925; BAL 5048. Scarce. A leader of the Hartford Wits, Dwight also served as a chaplain in the Revolutionary War. This was one of his most popular poems and includes a vivid description of the burning of Fairfield Connecticut by the British in 1779.
